Profile of the Association
Established in the year 1928 as MYSORE Veterinary Medical Association by major R. W. Simpson, the Association has grown leaps and bounds since then and has seen, experienced and excelled in Veterinary Medicine and Health Care. The association has celebrated its Platinum Jubilee in the year 2008.
The Association has grown under the able leadership of Dr. R. D. Nanjaiah, Dr. B. C. Ramkrishna, Dr. S. Abdul Rehman, Dr. N Chandra Shekar Reddy, Dr. M. Narayan Swamy and many other leaders from time to time.
The Association acquired its own building in the year 1978 which has been renovated and extended during the last 30 years.
After Dr. R. D. Nanjaiah, the younger generation took over the reigns of the association in the year 1983 under the leadership of Dr. B. C. Ramkrishna. Since then many leaders have emerged and led the association in a commendable way.
Veterinarians excelling in other fields
With the advent of competition & saturation, the Veterinarians started exploring other new fields & have done exceedingly well. Rising from 1988-89, the Veterinarians started flourishing in other national & state level competitive exams like IAS, IPS, KAS, IIM, etc. Their list is as follows:
- Dr. Shashidhar Kano Kagini - IIM, Bangalore.
- Dr. Murali Krishna - KAS - Commercial Tax Department.
- Dr. B.J. Manjunathan - KFCS - Food & Civil Supplies department.
- Dr. C.J. Kengan - KAS - Commercial Tax Department.
Veterinarians excelling as entrepreneurs
There are vets who did not opt for service, departments vescode. But excelling as successful entrepreneurs, not only verifications to known tubes & all across the Country. To name a few is Dr. R.S. Sharma Verper Pnana, Dr. Kannappa Shetty, Dr. Venugopal Reddy, Dr. B.C. Ramakrishna, Dr. Rangarajesh G. Kalleomin, Dr. Nagesh - Veteran Labs, Dr. Ashwini Mikkal.
Objects
- The objects of the association shall be to:
- Promote the professional knowledge of its members.
- Improve animal health and development of the livestock wealth of the Country.
- Create esprit-de-corps among its members.
- Maintain the honour and dignity and to safeguard the rights and interest of the profession.
- Promote activities which directly or indirectly constitute to furtherance of the the above objects.
- The official year of the association shall be the calendar year.
